Problem

Safety, many personal risk situations don't start out as an obvious emergency. They happen during a commute, a date, an app run, a hike, or when someone simply stops responding. Today, safety still depends a lot on the person being able to warn that something is wrong or on someone realizing the problem in time. When this does not happen, family members and trusted people may take time to understand that there has been a change in situation and to take action. This lack of rapid risk perception and follow-up in moments of greater vulnerability especially affects women, who live with recurring insecurity in different everyday situations.

Solution

Moon Line offers a personal security platform that connects the user to a network of trusted people and transforms location into preventive monitoring. Through the app, it is possible to share location, initiate real-time monitoring, define safe areas and trigger an SOS to quickly alert those who can help. The proposal is to reduce the dependence on the person being able to warn that something went wrong, creating a continuous layer of protection before, during and after a risky situation. As an evolution, the platform provides integration with WhatsApp for follow-up, check-ins and alerts to trusted contacts, in addition to connected physical devices. These devices can operate both via Bluetooth with the app and independently, with their own location and connectivity, expanding protection even when the cell phone is not accessible.

Business model

The business model combines recurring subscription revenue and the sale of physical devices. Currently, the Protect plan has a monthly fee of R$ 19,90 per user. For hardware, we initially estimated an acquisition/manufacturing cost of around R$ 350 per unit, with final sales price yet to be defined according to prototyping, scale, logistics and margin. Thus, the initial recurring ticket is approximately R$ 19,90/month per subscriber, while the hardware ticket will exceed R$ 350 per device. In the future, there may also be B2B and institutional revenues with companies, organizations, and public agencies.

Market

Globally, the market for personal safety apps was estimated at approximately US$ 1,76 Billion in 2025, with a projection of reaching US$ 4,8 Billions even 2032. Also considering smart personal security devices — a segment that includes wearables, tracking, and independent devices — the global market reached around US$ 48,4 billions in 2025. Although our initial strategy is focused on Brazil, Moon Line's architecture, combining software, location, communication, and connected hardware, allows for future expansion to other markets.

Competitors

InvisaWear (United States only), Life360 (Worldwide).

Competitive differentiation

Moon Line's competitive advantage lies in the integration between the application, WhatsApp and its own hardware in a single personal security platform. The future integration with WhatsApp will allow the user to initiate follow-ups, check in and interact with their trusted network through a channel already present in the daily lives of Brazilians, while location and security intelligence continue to be processed by the Moon Line ecosystem. In addition, physical devices are planned that can work via Bluetooth with the application or independently, with their own location and connectivity. Thus, Moon Line combines the convenience of the cell phone and WhatsApp with a physical layer of protection that can continue to operate even when the smartphone is not accessible.

Entry barrier

The barrier to entry lies in the construction of an integrated security ecosystem, and not in an isolated functionality. Moon Line combines application, location infrastructure and real-time alerts, future integration with WhatsApp, and development of its own hardware, including Bluetooth devices and independent versions with their own location and connectivity. Replicating this solution requires simultaneous mastery of mobile software, backend, geolocation, real-time communication, firmware, electronics, connectivity, and data security. In addition to technology, the evolution of the platform creates operational knowledge, integrations, reliability, and relationships with users and partners, making it more difficult to reproduce the complete experience just by copying specific functionality.

Traction

Yes. Still in the initial phase of validating the concept, before the current startup structure, we developed a first, fairly simple physical prototype, at the time under the name Guardian, to test viability and interest in the product. The prototype was presented in a video posted by creator Dhe Barbosa on TikTok, which generated more than 1. 000 expressions of interest and informal requests through the device. This feedback helped validate the existence of demand prior to the development of the current solution. Since then, the project has evolved to a more complete platform, with an application, its own infrastructure and the development of new physical devices.
